Features

Everything a shared bill needs

Built for roommates, trips, and the group chat that always says "I'll get it back to you."

Split any way

Equally, by exact amounts, percentages, or shares. Pick who's in with a tap.

Live balances

One number per person, always current. No spreadsheet, no screenshots.

Settle everything

Clear one balance or all of them at once — each payment recorded in a tap.

Groups with QR invites

A group for the flat, one per trip. Friends join by link or by scanning a code.

Multi-currency

Yen for the trip, dollars at home. Balances stay separate per currency — nothing silently converted.

Activity in sync

Every expense, edit, and settle-up lands for everyone — with a notification when it matters.

How it works

Ten seconds per bill

01

Add the expense

Amount, who paid, who's in. The keyboard does the rest.

02

Split it your way

Equal by default; exact, percent, or shares when it isn't.

03

Settle up

Everyone sees one number. Record the payment and you're square.

Who it's for

Wherever money gets shared

The same ledger handles a Tuesday takeaway and a fortnight abroad. Keep a group running as long as the arrangement lasts.

Roommates and rent

Split rent, utilities and the shared shopping in one standing group for the flat. Everyone's share is current the moment someone adds a bill, so nobody has to reconstruct the month from a chat thread.

Trips and holidays

Track travel expenses across a whole group — flights on one card, the hotel on another, dinner split four ways in a currency none of you use at home. Settling up at the end takes a minute, not an argument.

Dinners and nights out

One person taps the card and everyone else owes a share. Add the bill before the card machine is back on the table, split it evenly or by what each person actually ordered.

Couples and shared costs

Two people, one shared life, separate accounts. Record who covered what without keeping a running tally in your head — and without it turning into a conversation about money.

In the app

Every screen here is real

Not mockups. These are generated straight from the shipping build — the same captures the App Store gets.

The Payculator home screen: a total balance of US$1,928.40 owed to you, the friends who owe you, and a list of recent transactions.

Questions

Before you start

Is Payculator free?

Yes. Every feature is free — there is no subscription, no paid tier and no advertising. Splitting, groups, multi-currency balances and settling up all work on the free app.

How does Payculator split a bill?

Enter the amount, pick who paid and who was involved, and Payculator divides it. Equal splits are the default; you can also split by exact amounts, by percentage, or by shares when someone had the expensive dish or takes the bigger room.

Do my friends need the app too?

To take part in a group, yes — each person needs an account so their own balance stays accurate. Joining takes a link or a QR code, and they can use the web version instead of installing anything.

Can I use Payculator without installing an app?

Yes. The full app runs in the browser at payculator.app/app — the same account, the same groups and the same balances as the phone apps.

Does Payculator work with multiple currencies?

Yes. Record an expense in whichever currency you paid in. Balances stay separate per currency, so nothing is converted behind your back at a rate you did not choose.

Does Payculator move money or connect to my bank?

No. Payculator is a ledger, not a payment app. It records who paid and who owes what; you settle up however you already do — cash, bank transfer, or any payment app. Marking a debt settled only updates the record.

What devices does Payculator run on?

iPhone (iOS 16 and later), Android phones, and any modern desktop or mobile browser. Your data syncs across all of them from one account.

How do I settle up?

Open a person or a group and record the payment. You can clear a single balance or settle everything you owe at once, and everyone involved sees the ledger update.
